Ioana Păsărin

script supervisor

Hey! I’m Ioana — script supervisor, continuity wizard, and on-set problem-solver.I’ve worked on everything from fast-paced TV shows to international features, including large-scale co-productions like Django and visionary films like BAAB in the UAE.My job? To support the director, to be their second pair of eyes, their calm in the chaos, and the person who makes them laugh between takes.I also have a background in editing, which helps me think like a post team while working on set. That means fewer surprises later, and a smoother production now.So check out my work and let's bring your next project to life with precision and creativity!

International Projects

BAAB (2025) is a psychological drama directed by Nayla Al Khaja, and it was one of the most intense and rewarding projects I’ve worked on. We shot in the mountains of the UAE, and the story dives deep into grief, trauma, and the fine line between reality and imagination.Supporting Nayla’s vision, making sure everything lined up from shot to shot, especially with such a layered narrative, it was one of those sets where you really feel like you're part of something special. ♥︎

Django (2021) was a different kind of adventure: a big-budget period drama co-produced by Canal+ and Sky, directed by David Evans, Enrico Maria Artale and Francesca Comencini. Stunning sets, a massive crew, and what felt like hundreds of extras in full costume almost every day. We shot over more than six months, and the scale of the production was just incredible.Being the script supervisor on something this detailed meant keeping a close eye on continuity across long, complex scenes, especially with all the moving parts: multiple cameras, stunts, horses, smoke, mud, the works. It was intense, but also one of those rare opportunities where you get to be part of something truly cinematic from the inside out.

Romanian TV Series

In Romania, I’ve worked extensively on long-format television, coordinating continuity across more than 35 episodes. This includes Atletico Textila (16 episodes, 2024), a comedy series about a failed football team trying to make it big; Nothing Brigade (13 episodes, 2023), another comedy about a police team of outcasts solving crimes; and The Father (3 episodes, 2025), a gangster action drama. These productions required staying sharp through shifting schedules, large crews, and evolving scripts, all while delivering flawless notes and keeping the energy on set flowing.Working on Romanian series taught me to stay fast, flexible, and deeply collaborative. And most importantly, regardless of how tired you are, smile!

Critically acclaimed films

I’ve always loved cinema, especially auteur-driven films that dive deep into character and realism. Working on projects with a strong artistic voice is something I truly enjoy. The attention to subtle detail, the emotional precision, the quiet tension between what’s said and what’s left unspoken. As a script supervisor, being the director’s right hand on these kinds of films is both a responsibility and a joy.I’ve had the privilege of working on A River’s Gaze (2023), directed by Andreea Bortun and produced by Sebastian Stan — a delicate, intimate story about a single mother whose dreams for her son often overshadow his emotional needs. Where Elephants Go (2022), directed by Gabi Șarga and Cătălin Rotaru (who are no strangers at Cannes), follows a bittersweet journey through Bucharest, pairing a nine-year-old girl and a childlike 23-year-old in a strangely magical, urban adventure. And #dogpoopgirl (2019), a sharp social satire by Andrei Huțuleac, tells the story of a woman whose life is turned upside down after a minor incident goes viral — a film that earned wide recognition and numerous international awards.
